About

What ReSafe is

ReSafe checks the email and text messages that reach you, and the links they carry, for scams, phishing and fake sites, and tells you in plain language what it finds.

ReSafe is a scam filter for people, not companies. Scams now arrive by email, by text, and through the links you tap, and they are written to be convincing. ReSafe checks those channels for you, tells you when something is wrong in plain language, and tells you what to do about it.

What ReSafe does

Email checks

Connect a Google account and ReSafe scans the mail arriving in your Gmail inbox for phishing and impersonation attempts, then labels the ones it catches so the warning is on the message itself.

Text message filtering

Scam texts are sorted into junk before they reach you. Most are settled on the phone itself, and the links a text carries are checked against the scam sites we track.

Link checking

ReSafe checks the pages you open against the phishing and scam addresses we track, and filters out the ones we already know, in every app and every browser.

Password checks

Tell ReSafe which email addresses and phone numbers to watch. It checks them against published lists of leaked credentials and tells you which password to change, and where.

Why ReSafe asks to connect your Google account

Inbox scanning works by connecting your Google account, with your permission. ReSafe reads your Gmail only to flag phishing, and never sends, deletes, or moves your mail. You can disconnect at any time, from ReSafe or from your Google Account.

Connecting a mailbox is optional and nothing happens until you do it. ReSafe reads the messages in your inbox in order to identify phishing, impersonation, and fraud. It does not read messages in Spam, Trash, Drafts, or Sent. The only change it makes to your mailbox is to mark a message it has identified as a threat, so the warning is on the message where you read it.

Mail is checked and then discarded — message bodies are never stored — and what remains is the result: the sender, a short extract of the subject, and the verdict. Everything ReSafe keeps about you is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Getting ReSafe

ReSafe is an iPhone app. Start with a short questionnaire about how you use your email and your messages, and ReSafe sets itself up around the answers. If you have a question first, write to us at support@resafe.io and we will reply.

ReSafe Ltd. builds ReSafe. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to everything above.
